APOQUEL is the first medicine specifically designed to target canine allergic itch and inflammation. Works differently from steroids and cyclosporine. 
Nonsteroidal APOQUEL targets specific cytokines that cause itch and inflammation, relieving symptoms of allergic skin disease with minimal impact on the immune system.

  • Do not use APOQUEL in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. 
  • APOQUEL may increase the chances of developing serious infections and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. 
  • Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions.
  • Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. The most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. 
  • APOQUEL has been used safely with many common medications including parasiticides, antibiotics, and vaccines.

Dose of Zoetis Apoquel:

  • The dose of APOQUEL tablets is 0.18 to 0.27 mg/lb (0.4 to 0.6 mg/kg).
  • APOQUEL should be given twice daily (BID) for up to 14 days of therapy and once daily (SID) for maintenance.
  • APOQUEL may be given with or without food.
  • APOQUEL may be discontinued without tapering.
